World Population Day

Sponsored by the United Nations Population Fund, World Population Day was inspired by public interest in 5 Billion Day, reach on approximately July 11, 1987. According to www.worldofmeters.info there are over 7.5 billion people on the Earth today.

This is an interesting site where you can find the number of books published, the number of tweets sent, the number of tons of chemicals released, the number of obese people, and the number of cigarettes smoked today, among many other statistics.

Worldometers has been recognized as an “outstanding reference website” the American Library Association.
