For no particular reason, October 22 is Wombat Day in Australia. Like so many Australian animals, wombats are marsupials. They are also burrowers and have the distinction of having a rear-facing pouch that doesn’t fill with soil as they dig.
There seems to be a lot of discussion as to the name of group of wombats. My personal favorite is a wisdom, however, it is also variously known as a colony or a mob.
They also have cube shaped scat.
