International Louie Louie Day

Sponsored by LLAMAS (Louie Louie Advocacy and Music Appreciation Society) April 11 is International Louie Louie Day in honor of composer Richard Berry’s birthday. There are more than 1500 documented recordings of “Louie Louie” and application is pending in the Guinness Book of World records.

“Louie Louie” has been recognized by organizations and publications worldwide for its influence on the history of rock and roll, including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Rolling Stone, National Public Radio, and Mojo.
