July 2 is World UFO Day commemorating the day in 1947 that a UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) supposedly crashed near Roswell, New Mexico.

It has been celebrated as World UFO day since 2001. Its goal is to raise awareness of the Roswell findings and to gain support in forcing governments to “tell the truth about earthly visits from outer space aliens”.
